APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

The game is now closed.

❇ 13 of 30 Player Slots Filled ❇

Current Player Reserves: CLOSED
New Player Reserves: CLOSED
Current Player Apps: CLOSED
New Player Apps: CLOSED

This game is invite-only. See more about this in the guidelines below.

Players can also RESERVE.

APP PROCESSING

Players may app at any time and this is first come, first serve. This is so there is no app rush when the apps are open. Players can app characters whenever they want to.

Please give the mods 5 days to respond. While apps have less to judge, the mods may approve them at a time that they're more available to process list additions and so on.

GAME CAPS

Overall Player Cap: 30 players
Characters Allowed Per Player: 5

CAST CAP

Cast Cap: 8

Completely original OCs will count as a cast. OCs based on tabletop or MMO canons will count towards the MMO or tabletop canons. Big sprawling franchises count as one cast as far as caps are concerned, so Star Wars would be the only Star Wars cast. Anything Marvel would be contained under a Marvel cap, and that includes MCU, the comics, the animated shows, everything.

Versions of each character allowed: 3

We allow three versions of the same character in game, such as an AU and the canon version, or three versions from three different incarnations of a canon (ex: comics Barry Allen, animated Barry Allen, and live action TV show Barry Allen).

NEW PLAYER APPS

Invite-Only: For new players, the game is invite-only. There is a space on the app to put which current player invited you. New invites can be extended to anyone a current player wants to extend them to, including people from [personal profile] enablemeplz or the "App This Please" thread on [community profile] rpanons.

Players who don't know anyone in the game can request an invite directly from the mods. Please note "Mod invite requested" in the invite section. If requesting a mod invite, it is required to give the mods your handle and plurk name, but you can provide it in the mod contact if you'd prefer to keep it private.

Former players of games run by the head mod, [community profile] thelegion, any iteration of [community profile] wilderlands, and [community profile] piper90 can note they were a former player in place of an invite. Please let the mods know the player name you used at that time.

New Player App Wait Queue: Any apps that come in after one of the caps is met will remain in a wait queue and will be processed when a player slot is available.

A new player app in the wait queue counts as first come, first served. As long as a character is listed in the wait queue, current players and any other new players that come along cannot reserve or app that character. If a cast is close to being capped, a new player app in the wait queue also reserves a cast slot.

Reserves: A reserve also reserves cast or player slots. Reserves last 7 days.

CURRENT PLAYER APPS

Current Player Wait Queue: As long as cast and Character version caps aren't met, apps will be processed regularly. Any apps that come in after a cast cap or Character version is met will remain in the queue and will only be processed when a slot is available.

Wait Queue Reserves: An app in the wait queue counts as first come, first serve. As long as a character is listed in the wait queue, current players and any other new players that come along cannot reserve or app that character. If a cast is capped, or the cap for Character Versions is met, an app in the wait queue also reserves the next slot available.

Reserves: A reserve also reserves cast, character version, or player slots. Reserves last 7 days.

CHARACTER TERMS

Not sure what to put in the "Canon, AU, CRAU, Canon OC, or OC?" section on the app below? the Here is an explanation of character terms to choose from on the app.

Canon: This is a fandom/canon character pulled directly from the piece of media they're in. If someone were to play Spider-Man directly from the comics he would be a fandom/canon character from the original universe he exists in.

AU: Alternate universe. This is a fandom/canon character with an altered personal history, introducing changes that effect who the character is. If you were to play a version of Superman who never met Lois Lane and it wasn't a take from any of the comics, that would be an alternate universe version of Superman. This is not an alternate version of the character from existing media. So Superman from the comics and Superman from the live-action movies both count as Canon, not AU.

Canon OC: An original character based on a pre-existing piece of media. This can be a tabletop character based on a tabletop game system. It can also be an OC from a pre-existing piece of media, like a completely original Pokemon trainer from Pokemon.

OC: An original character. This is a completely original character that comes from a completely original world, rather than using another canon as their point of origin.

CRAU: This term is one that attaches to the other character types rather than standing alone. A CRAU is a version of any type of character that was previously in another RP, and is carrying over their memories of the old game. They are able to remember their CR (Character relationships) from the old game but must follow the game's rules about the character mentioning it. They are altered from their original form (so they are alternate universe). Usually these characters started as their initial character type and then changed by gaining experience from the past RP.

CRAU overlaps with the other character types, because every type of character can potentially be brought over from another RP. In that case, the player should list the initial character type and that they are also CRAU. For instance, if I were to bring Scooby Doo from another RP with his memories of that game, I would list him as Canon/CRAU. If I brought an OC from a past game, I would list OC/CRAU. If a character started as an AU in a past game, I'd list a character as AU/CRAU.

SITUATIONAL APP CLOSURES

Both new player and current player apps may close on occasion due to RL holidays, mods going on vacation, and other mitigating circumstances. They may also be closed sometimes during particularly complicated gamewide plots that would create difficulties for people introing characters. These closures will be temporary.

APP RULES

Before Apping, please visit both the PLAYABLE CHARACTERS and MYTHKIND AND POWERS pages to make sure your character is appable and to figure out their powers.

You may app as many characters at a time that you want to play, as long as they don't exceed your 5 character slots.

If you only have one character and you're swapping them out for another, please note on your app and your drop post that you're swapping out so we don't think you're giving up your player slot.

If you app for multiple characters from the same canon they must not have a lot of direct involvement (ie they can't be close siblings or SOs or anything like that).

Apps are judged for that character as first come, first served.

In the subject of your app comment, please put "NEW PLAYER APP" or "CURRENT PLAYER APP" before the character's name and canon.

EXAMPLE:
NEW PLAYER APP | Bugs Bunny | Space Jam

POWER SELECTION

MYTH POWERS
Do you want your character to have the baseline myth powers listed on the Myths and Powers page? If so, do you want them to have all of them or just a selection?

GAME POWERS
What game powers do you want your character to have? This can be canon powers, entirely new powers, or a mix of both. Please list this as a very basic list. No descriptions of powers or how you'll balance them are needed. The mods will simply ask if we want more information, or let you know of a default limit to a power we want to put down.

If using powers from a canon where the powers have some kind of unique name, please list the powers with more colloquial language. For instance, if you were apping Aang from ATLA, list powers as "Manipulating earth, fire, air, and water" instead of "Bending all 4 elements."

Remember, you can keep powers simple! This can literally just be a list.

ABILITIES
Please list any abilities independent of any meta-powers or magic here. Martial arts, wilderness survival, diplomacy skills, etc.

The mods just want to know this for plot-running in the future.

ADDITIONAL INFO
Any additional info you think it's important to include. You can use this space to ask the mods if certain weapons, gear, belongings, or animal companions can be brought into the game with the character.

CASTS CLOSE TO CAP

MARVEL | 6 out of 8 | OPEN

WAIT QUEUE

Character | Canon | Character Type: Canon, AU, etc | Player Name

EXPECTED WAIT TIME

Please give the mods 5 days to respond.

For new player apps that are submitted after the cut off for the player cap to be filled, we cannot give estimates on how long it will take to get into the game, as this depends on any natural drops that happen. However, when a player slot opens, we will ask the player if they're still interested in the game and process the app.

For new players, we consider a new player slot reserved by an app until the entire review process is over, so if we ask for revisions, your slot is still reserved until the mods make their final judgement of the app. However, if we ask for revisions, you will have 2 days to respond. After that, you'll forfeit the player slot reserved by your app and we'll move on to the next app.

If apping, please fill out the following:

NEW PLAYER APP | Tim Drake | DC Comics (CRAU)

[personal profile] mostdangerousbird 2023-07-28 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
APPLICATION

Player Name/Handle: Marie
Plurk Handle: [plurk.com profile] seemarierun
Preferred pronouns (optional): She/her/they
Player Status: New Player
Other characters: N/A
Invited by: Played at Wilderlands, Piper90, and the Legion

Character Name: Timothy Jackson Drake-Wayne why is it so long "Tim"
Fandom: DC Comics
Character Journal: [personal profile] mostdangerousbird
Canon, AU, CRAU, Canon OC, or OC? CRAU
CRAU History: Wilderlands, Metaheroes
Canon point: End of the Robins miniseries
Age: 20
PB: N/A
Character Center: Wish fulfilment - I'm using that in a literal sense. I reserve the right to change it later, but Tim has a long habit of saying that he's going to do something and putting the work in and doing it. It's like the Nike Just Do It slogan. It's the idea we pitch to kids that they can all be President someday if they put their minds to it.
Belief: Belief in, with a side of want to protect. I'm saying belief in due to the whole "Robin is an urban myth" element of his own universe. It comes and goes as a concept, but it's there. In his world, he's a real life folk hero. He's one of the 3 to 9 people in Gotham you call out for if you're in trouble in the night. There was an entire storyline of teenagers emulating Robin. Also, as this is a multiverse sort of deal, the concept of "Batman & Robin" has entered the lexicon. You could argue that they're a part of Americana.

POWER SELECTION

MYTH POWERS
Standard is fine.

GAME POWERS
Ability to shrink to a small size (about 4 inches) without losing any durability or strength
Pyrokinesis - A note on this one. He can create fiery wings that, when he is small, fuck around with the air currents and keep him aloft.

And since I like limitations and the character I'm swiping this powerset from has one (Matt Storm, Earth-9811), he recharges from the sun and other heated celestial bodies. Take that, night owl.

ABILITIES
  • Physical strength/flexibility/agility/reflexes: None of these can be described as super human, but peak conditioning for his size is accurate. For instance, as far as physical strength goes, he's able to catch his falling weight after firing a grappling gun and then make a controlled swing through Gotham, landing right where he means to. That takes incredible arm & core strength, not to mention coordination.
  • Martial arts/Weapons/Gymnastic ability: Tim's been learning how to fight since he was in grade school. He's been taught in hand-to-hand combat across multiple disciplines by Batman, Nightwing, Barbara Gordan and Shiva (the last is one of DC's predominant martial artists, who also taught him how to use his trademark bo). He's proficient in thrown weapons (batarangs/birdarangs are a throwing star/boomerang/dagger type hybrid), with excellent accuracy, and has been trained with other weapons (bows, swords, etc) but rarely uses them. He's often shown training on the pommel horse, parallel bars, and rings, presumably for strength, agility, and balance.
  • Hacking/Technology Skill: Tim's computer skills are incredible. He's hacked clinics and hospitals, police databases, and government agencies for their records, broken into villain's computers, etc. He's built and coded computers for both the Batcave and Oracle. Tim's hacking skills are so advanced that he was able to create complete records for a fictional "uncle" that successfully fooled Batman for weeks. He faked a personal note from his father and a will, picking a lawyer who had left the firm that his father used several years prior so it could not be verified, and broke into the office to put it in his father's file. He hacked into a plethora of computer networks and created social security records and medical records, tax history, past employment and residences, etc. When Bruce finally did figure it out, he was proud and pleased, and he even showed Tim how to cover his tracks even more.
  • Stealth/Tracking/Deceit: As far as stealth is considered, if Tim was a heavy-footed mouth-breather, he wouldn't be Robin. He moves quickly and quietly - almost silently in a cityscape. He knows the value of surprise and will not start a confrontation by wandering up face-to-face - he's going to be trying to avoid any confrontation, with perhaps the exception of breaking up a fight already in progress. He's followed criminals all over Gotham and Bludhaven without being made. He'll be in the shallow shadows, looking for air ducts to crawl through. Examples of this abound, but perhaps the best one is when he snuck three other grounded Titans out of the Titan Tower without alerting four senior members AND without setting off the security system. Tim's a master of disguise, and his make-up/wigs/fake voices have fooled most of his friends. He's quite the liar as well, and easily lies to everyone in his life, when he thinks he needs to.
  • Intelligence/Detective skills: As if being a computer expert wasn't enough, Tim's just plain smart on top of that. He's literally a genius. He has a logical mind and a good sense of strategy. He can dissect a fight while he's in it. He met the same villain twice within a few issues. The first time he met him, the chase & fight took hours and left Tim wounded. The second time? From initial sighting to calling the cops to pick him up took 9 minutes, because Tim had gone over what had happened again and again until he knew what he needed and what he needed to do to take him down as quickly as possible. He's a natural detective - he is one of the few in DC to have deduced the identity of Batman, and he did it when he was nine, and he’s been trained in criminology and some forensics by Batman. Bruce has told Alfred that Tim is already smarter than he is.
  • Other: Tim has learned to get by on precious little sleep. He's got a very high pain tolerance and has fought through injuries such as getting stabbed through the arm with an arrow. Polyglot - Tim speaks Cantonese, German, Spanish, Russian and French. He’s a good driver, and is capable of operating a car, motorcycle, (bat)plane, or boat at high speeds and through chases.

ADDITIONAL INFO

  • Batbelt - Has a long internal compartment for 10 collapsible standard batarangs. Buckle contains a mini camera and battery. Belt is capable of delivering a shock if someone tries to forcibly remove it. The bat grapple attaches magnetically. This link has a complete write-up.  Anything that is noted to have now been merged with the suit will be.  The belt will also contain a remote for his bike.  For the consumables, he will have the following amounts:
    • Tracers (6)
    • Bo shuriken (6)
    • Flex cuffs (6)
    • Lollipops (3)
    • Pellet grenades/other incendiary devices (3)
  • Robin costume, including the following features:
    • Mask has the white-out lenses that can be flipped down to hide his eyes, assist in seeing in the dark/through fog of gas, and provide eye protection.
    • Gauntlets contain a full lock picking set and built-in communications equipment, including  holographic projection and some sort of connection (Bluetooth?) to other communicators/phones.
    • Tunic, pants, and cape have a special carbon fibre woven into the fabric for protection and Kevlar in areas where additional armoring is needed that won't inhibit movement.
    • R-logo on chest is an emergency birdarang.
  • Collapsible magnesium alloy bo (can be attached to the belt)
  • A fairly standard combat knife
