GAME POWERS Nico wields the Staff of One, which is a magical artifact that can cast any spell - once. Trying to cast the same spell again will result in a random effect instead. Nico has to focus on a painful memory to cast a spell, and has recently learned that physical pain is also helpful. The Staff of One also cannot raise the dead, and can be blocked from use if Nico is enclosed in a circle of wizards' ashes. The Staff usually "lives" inside Nico's body and is summoned by her shedding her own blood. It may have other weaknesses that she doesn't know about.
